Temporary Holiday Sites

Throughout the year, GWSDA organise a number of THSs (Temporary Holiday Sites).

These are meets that are not on any Club sites and generally require members to provide their own facilities (No on site toilet blocks on site), they also run for an extended period of time.

As such you are welcome to stay a few nights or, event permitting, a number of weeks.

A number of THSs are run by the relevant DAs all over Scotland, however GWSDA frequently run their regular THSs at Bridge of Allan, Gartfairn Farm, Loch House Farm and Glenburn Dairy. Other THSs may be organised throughout the year and these details will be in the upcoming meets area of this website.

Details of our regular THSs can be found below.

Bridge of Allan THS

BoA General View

Lovely flat grass field with hard standing areas. Views of both Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. lovely to just sit in the field and relax. If you want more, there is an easy walk into Bridge of Allan itself. Bus stop for Stirling etc just up the top of the street at the main road. The train station is walkable to (if you are feeling up to it) just outside Bridge of Allan. You can walk to Dunblane and there are other attractive walks. There is a Microbrewery in BoA itself and distillerys just various car journeys away. Of course, not forgetting Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Facilities

There are fresh water taps and elsan disposal available and we usually have a skip for rubbish. Own sanitation essential though.

You can book in advance if you wish but the field is more than large enough to accommodate just turning up.

Location can be found here on Google Maps.

Gartfairn General View

Gartfain is right next to picturesque Balmaha. A very tranquil location on Gartfairn Farm, looking out over stunning views of Loch Lomond and it's bonnie banks.

There are rambles, there is Ben Lomond and you could even walk along part of the West Highland Way.

Come and relax or travel around the beautiful countryside. Or even to Glasgow if you want a city escape.
